Television images of bare-footed children traipsing through mountain snow triggered the campaign.
d’Auvergne teacher Janet Willis was so upset and disturbed by the footage that her husband, St Luke’s deputy head Andrew, could eventually take no more.
Mrs Willis wrote to all 28 Island primary schools.
and now all pupils from at least 20 schools will print their feet alongside messages of hope and each donate £1 to the cause.
The money will go towards the Jersey Side by Side Appeal for hygiene kits in the region.
