Two new mileposts have been erected in St Aubin and at First Tower as part of a campaign across the British Isles to get people out of their cars and into the saddle.
They are part of a set used by the National Cycle Network in the UK to signpost more than 10,000 miles of cycle network developed by Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity.
The mileposts have been paid for by The Royal Bank of Scotland and their erection in Jersey has been a joint project involving Jersey Tourism and Environment and Public Services.
Environment president Senator Philip Ozouf said routes on the national network would be published and Jersey would be promoted as a great cycling destination ‘These sculptural pieces are a fantastic addition to the Island’s cycle network,’ he said.
‘In addition to the environmental and health benefits of riding to work, it’s worth getting on your bike just to see them.’
