That possibility follows St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft’s announcement in the parish newsletter Town Crier that the parish intends to proceed with plans for a skateboard facility in the park’s south-west corner.
The facility was requested last November, when the Channel Islands Skateboard Association asked a parish assembly to approve the plans.
The assembly approved the plans in principle by 50 votes to one, and when the association returned to another assembly to gain more land that application, too, was approved by 53 to 37 votes.
Opposition to the plans was mounted the week before the second vote but was not strong enough to defeat the plans.
