CI playing captain Rebecca Edwards said: ‘We’ve had an excellent week and full credit to the players as they’ve shown a lot of spirit and resolve.

‘We don’t get to practise together at all but we’ve come together this week and played very well.

‘There is a lot of ability in the squad and being able to pair up with different players has been the story of our success.

‘It’s the first time in a good number of years the CI team has been promoted and hopefully we can be successful again today and win the division.

‘We can do it – all the teams are beatable in this division.

If we can knuckle down and do our best we’ll have a good chance.

Every shot will be vital, we must remain fully focused and continue to believe in our ability.’ Staffordshire and Bedfordshire both came down a division last year and the CI showed their strength to defeat Bedfordshire 6-3 yesterday.
