The theatre had only raised enough money to stay open until the end of this month, by which time it was hoped that discussions between Jersey Opera House Ltd, Jersey Arts Trust and the Education, Sport and Culture Committee would have resulted in a long-term solution to the venue’s finances.
This has not proved to be the case and discussions between all three parties are continuing.
However it has been decided to keep the theatre open for a further month to allow the JADC’s production to go ahead from 14 to 27 June.
