Two plates, JSY 888 and JSY 9, both fetched £10,000 and JSY 8 sold for £10,400 at the Driver and Vehicle Standards auction at Highlands.
In total £110,000 was raised, all of which will be put into the Community Safety Fund.
Head of department at the DVS Rohan Minkley said: ‘I think this was the second highest amount we have ever raised and I am delighted at the outcome.
As they say in auctions, it’s all down to who’s there on the day and obviously there were some serious bidders present on Saturday.
‘Four digit J numbers now seem to be going for anywhere between £850 and £1,000, while some other three digit plates sold in the £5,000 region.’
