The annual event, for players outside of the Jersey RFC and Guernsey RFC first-team squads, is sure to be a tough match.
‘I’m pleased with the final squad,’ said White.
‘We’ve had some very productive training sessions and it has been a great experience working with players from all the clubs on the Island.
Thanks must go to those players who supported the Inter-Insular but just missed out on selection.’ White, helped by Ian Anderson, expects Guernsey to have a strong pack and to keep the game fairly tight.
‘But, I think our front five can match Guernsey’s and provide a good platform for our quick backs.
‘We have a great player in Ivan Murphy at No 8 and he will have his own United Banks’ half-backs Tim de Gruchy and Jimmy McCormack playing alongside him which should bring continuity to the forwards and backs.’ Shawn Quéripel, also of Banks, was a popular choice as captain.
Emmeraude Ferries helped make the trip possible with their support of the Jersey Rugby Association.
The match, on the new pitch at Foote’s Lane, kicks-off at 12.30.
The Jersey team is: 1, Brian Walshe (Les Quennevais Sharks); 2, Shawn Quéripel (Banks, captain); 3, James Brimelow (Beeches); 4, Richard Vetier (LQ Sharks, vice-captain); 5, Matthew Collins (Jersey); 6, Edmund O’Brien (Banks); 7, Paul Maltby (Jersey); 8, Ivan Murphy (Banks); 9, Tim de Gruchy (Banks); 10, Jimmy McCormack (Banks); 11, Matthew Gilley (LQ Sharks); 12, Rory Steele (Jersey); 13, Dave McCready (Beeches); 14, Terry Oliviera (Jersey); 15, John Swift (Jersey).
