It follows an admission by Education, Sport and Culture that proper procedures were not followed by the college when the contract was awarded to an Irish catering company ahead of local rivals.
The tender process was described as a sham after it emerged that the winning company, Carroll Food Services, had been in talks with managers at the college before the contract was put out to tender.
An external inquiry found that while there was ‘no irrefutable evidence of bias’ there was a perception that Carroll Food Services had been given an unfair advantage and that the college’s actions had been ‘less than equitable’.
Housing president Deputy Terry Le Main complained to Education last autumn about the circumstances surrounding the tender process, and he now plans to ask questions in the States.
