Four Seasons Health Care Ltd also run the La Haule residential home, which they took over in 2002.
As previously reported, a planning application was submitted earlier this year by another UK care homes group, Guardian Care Homes (UK) Ltd, which owns the Bon Air nursing home.
That application to convert the existing property to 77 bedrooms and five one-bedroom apartments for residential care for the elderly was given in-principle approval by Planning in October.
At the time, the Environmental Health Officer raised concern that there was a limited market for this type of accommodation.
But today the managing director of the Silver Springs, Adrian Troy, announced that the hotel had been sold to Four Seasons for an ‘undisclosed sum’.
