On the restart next year Division I splits into Divisions Ia and Ib, between the top and bottom clubs.

Division II is also tight.

St Lawrence lead by a whisker but that could change with Quackers having a game in hand.

JCG Old Girls and St Peter presently tussle for third place.

St Lawrence also lead Division III, although St Ouen C are snapping at their heels while St Ouen Juniors lead Division IV with 24 points, and still have a game in hand.

Division I – St Brelade 43, St Lawrence A 24: St Lawrence put up a brave fight against the well-oiled cogs of the St Brelade team, but the latter took full advantage of their injury-weakened opponents to steam through the first quarter.

The impeccable timing of centre Julie Brady’s passsing, through to the effortless shooting of Caroline Avery propelled the high-class St Brelade squad into a comfortable half-time lead.

St Lawrence switched a few positions at the break which changed the flow of the game more in their favour.

Nikki Jubb had a superb game as WA, linking well with GA Nikki Billson and their confidence was boosted with a few more goals under their belts, while tight marking defenders Laura McFarlene and Nikki King kept them in the game.

Although St Brelade continued to play good quality netball St Lawrence were glad of the point for half score.

Umpires: Anne Le Sueur, Aileen Binnie.

Division IV – St Clement E 27, St Ouen D 29: St Clement won the first encounter against St Ouen by a narrow four-goal margin, so this was likely to be a close again – and so it proved.

The easterners started strongly targeting all their energies through the shooting abilities of youngsters Chevaun Le Monnier and Naomi Matthews who led the way.

The teams were equally matched, with a mixture of ex-youth and older players.

St Ouen brought Gill Williams on as GK which the St Clement attack found unsettling, and the westerners took full advantage of the unforced errors, WD Sarah Renouf picking up on loose balls and gaining vital interceptions.

With five minutes to play and tension mounting, it was only the cool-headed shooting of Sue Gavin that clinched the match for St Ouen.

Umpires: Claire Le Maistre, Claudine Thébault.
