The parish side were led to victory by husband-and-wife Andrea and Tony Edwards, together with David Proctor who all top-scored with 198s.
Tony excelled, stepping up from the C-team, while Andrea was the only shooter this week in the Voisin’s JSSA League to score a ton as St Lawrence A look to reclaim the honours in the top flight.
St John A, led by Craig Marett and Mark Andrews on 194s, won a close contest with last year’s champions Grouville.
The latter are presently struggling to find their top form.
Western A proved the surprise result of the night by drawing against St Helier A.
Malcolm Pallot, for Western, and Ian Jones, Graham Harris and Derek Jepson, for St Helier, all scored 195s in an exciting match.
In Division II, St John B were top scorers with Helen Pulley on 194 leading her team to a 40-point success against St John C, whose George Nugent was top shot with 191.
St Lawrence C, headed by Tony Edwards on 196, had a seven-point win against Western B.
Western’s C-team were also defeated, by St Helier B.
Owen de Gruchy returned to form for St Helier with 191 but S Chalker was top shot in the match on 193 for Western.
St Lawrence juniors obviously wanted to emulate their senior colleagues and with Jonathan Bouchard heading their team on 194 they easily beat Léoville.
Western juniors are no doubt the team to watch this season and despite their eight-point defeat by St Helier the potential is there for better results.
