Convent A 28, St Brelade A 22: It was a tightly-contested game throughout, with the Saints going ahead in the first quarter, using all the court.
But Convent wing defence Jane Le Feuvre was a steadying influence, and they pulled back and picked up their game to lead by four goals at half time, increasing their lead in the third with GS Laura Beeston netting some awesome shots from the edge of the circle and the inspired defensive work of Mary Blampied and Devine, who produced superb netball.
As the match went into the final quarter, the Saints found another surge of energy and picked up the pace again, producing spectacular shooting, but Convent rallied and Saints could do no more than hang on, never quite catching up.
