On her second visit to Jersey in 26 years, the Royal visitor seemed very impressed with the airy and spacious building, where patients have the opportunity to mix with others as well as having their own privacy.
On her arrival in the Island at around 4.30 pm, the Duchess was greeted at the Airport by the Lieut-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir John Cheshire, Lady Cheshire and the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, who accompanied her on the visit around the centre.
In the evening she attended the Peter Pan Ball at the Hotel de France in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Appeal.
Over 450 guests were at the event, which attracted a number of celebrities, including actress Cherie Lunghi, television presenter Carol Smilie and singer Mark Wynter.
