The Island’s 11 stores, which are all owned by Le Riche, have all been renamed Checkers Xpress – a change that also marks the end of the traditional stamp.

In its place, Le Riche have introduced a new loyalty card that combines the stamp with its Airmile scheme.

As well as the various Stampers stores, Le Riche Capital in Bath Street and three of the company’s garage forecourt shops – at Five Oaks, St Peter and Grouville – will also become Checkers Xpress stores.

‘The new stores combine all of the best features of a state-of-the-art convenience store with a customer-focused philosophy,’ said Andrew Bagot, managing director of Le Riche.

‘Customers have already had the opportunity to experience Checkers Xpress in St Aubin and we are now committed to transforming more stores.

Le Riche, which is part of the CI Traders group, intends to revamp many of its shops and has already applied to extend the stores at Grands Vaux and Grouville.
