This is a UK-wide event starting with local qualifying rounds, followed by county, regional and national knock out rounds.
The Jersey youngsters beat Guernsey 7-1 last weekend earn the right to represent the Channel Islands in the regional rounds.
The U13 teams travelled to Guernsey, with James Faudemer, Charlie Cohen and Jonathan Van Neste beating Guernsey 5-0 and the girls, Alex Taylor, Kirsten McArthur and Nicole Dubras, winning 3-2.
The U17 girls – Abigail Hazley, Katie Howell, and Sophie Holmes – lost 4-1 to Guernsey Schools.
Caesarean’s U17 boys, Tony Maguire, Richard Parker, Ruben De Sousa and Sundeep Watts, defeated Guernsey 3-2.
Scott Clayton, Daniel Scriven, William Falle and Jake Giacopelli, the U11 boys, beat the Sarnians 5-0 and the U15 girls, Francesca Dubras, Katie Gouyette and Katie Ross, won 3-2.
The U11 girls and U15 boys go straight to the regional play-offs – having beaten Les Ormes in the Jersey rounds – as Guernsey were unable to field teams in these age-groups.
To get to the county stage Caesarean first had to beat teams from Grainville and Les Mielles tennis clubs and Les Ormes Indoor Centre – and they won every division.
‘It was a fantastic weekend,’ head coach Pablo Giacopelli commented.
‘We bettered last year’s six out of eight wins, which is quite extraordinary, especially as the Guernsey teams were players from several clubs brought together, rather than separate clubs.
To all intents and purposes we played Guernsey island teams, which makes it an even more rewarding victory.’ The Caesarean youngsters are now hoping to get at least one of the seven teams through to the last four and, perhaps, even the National finals.
Their best result to date was when their U11 boys finished eighth overall three years ago.
