On Instant has been developed by St Brelade resident Nick Ogden, who set up the Island’s first internet service provider before moving on to launch Worldpay, which now generates total sales of more than a £1 billion a year.
On Instant has been designed for small to medium-sized businesses and allows them – using an emerging technology called Voice over Internet Protocol – to make free calls to each other through their computers.
As it is web-based, On Instant can be accessed from anywhere in the world – whether it is from the office, at home, in a hotel, at a wi-fi ‘hotspot’ (two have just been launched in the Island at the Atlantic Hotel and in the Elizabeth Terminal at the Harbour) or by using a GPRS or 3G mobile network.
