Election turnout of 65% – in Guernsey

The election has decided who will sit in the House as Guernsey moves to a new ministerial form of government.

And last night’s results could mean that the States face a three-way challenge between Deputies Lawrie Morgan, Bernard Floquet and Mike Torode to be the first Chief Minister in Channel Islands history.Fourteen States Members lost their seats last night, including Deputies Tony Webber, Roy Bisson and Peter Bougourd.But the night was not without controversy.

Deputy Bisson called for a recount after he narrowly missed out on retaining his St Peter Port South seat.
