The 16-year-old’s winning round at the St Clement’s Golf and Sports Centre, against a field of 30, was a seven-over-par 68.

Critchley, who last weekend won Jersey Western’s April Medal against senior golfers at La Moye, continued his fine form with birdie-3s at the ninth and 18th holes together with nine pars.Critchley, who plays off 11 handicap, returned a net score of 57 – equalling that of the handicap winner Craig Beeley.The 15-year-old, who has joined La Moye this year, was out in 36 and back in 40 for a gross 76 off 19 handicap.

Beeley also had a couple of birdies at the par-3 tenth and twelfth holes to win the Bill Watkins Trophy.Handicap section runner-up was the ever-improving Paul Dingle, St Clement’s Junior Foundation golfer of the year, with a net 60 off 16 handicap.

The 15-year-old Dingle was out in 38 and back in 38.Tom McMinigal was third with a net 62 and Kyse Ang, handicap winner last year, fourth.All four golfers in the running for the handicap prizes are members of the St Clement Junior Foundation.The tournament was a junior Island qualifying competition and Order of Merit points were awarded in the race for the Jason Howard Trophy.
