Gardens to get £1.6 million?

The Tourism Development Fund Committee, chaired by Deputy Lyndon Farnham, met the restoration team yesterday and said that they were in favour of the project in principle but the final decision would depend on certain conditions being met.Deputy Farnham said: ‘They are asking for £1.6 million and we would hope to be able to find most of it.

We are considering it in stages as it is a large sum of money and we need to make sure we have all the detail.’It is looking good and subject to further information is likely to get a positive response.

It will not officially be approved until we get all the information but we had a very positive hearing yesterday and we are all very keen on the principle of the idea.
