New name in Grouville poll for Constable
DAN Murphy has declared his intention to seek election as Constable of Grouville to complete the term of Frank Amy, who resigned last week.
Mr Murphy, a financial adviser who was born in the parish and lives in Fauvic, will be making his second attempt to represent Grouville.
He first stood for Deputy in 1993 in a four-cornered fight which saw Imogen Nicholls win the first of three terms in office.Yesterday, landscape contractor John Lamy - considered in the parish to be the favourite to fill the post - withdrew from the race.Mr Lamy, who proposed Mr Amy for each of his four terms, gave pressing business interests as the reason for his decision not to stand.
