States to be briefed about Les Pas deal

The Policy and Resources Committee has asked all Members to attend the meeting on 10 September to obtain further information ahead of the debate on 16 September.However, the committee is telling Members it will still not be in a position to discuss legal matters in any detail, as the court action could continue if the States decide to reject the deal.P and R vice-president Senator Terry Le Sueur said: ‘Given the legal advice received, the P and R Committee has no option but to remain silent on such matters until they can be revealed to the States in the States itself if a decision is made to hold the debate in camera.’
