As the tourist season reaches its peak, the police are taking steps to prevent trouble as holidaymakers swell the numbers out drinking.Announcing the crackdown today, Chief inspector Lennie Harper said that previous campaigns to combat street violence, launched under the Operation Focus banner, had achieved some success.Figures which were released yesterday show a 21 per cent drop in street violence from January to June this year compared with the average for the first six months of the past three years.
