Opener Chris Searson was again in fine form hitting an undefeated 55 (three fours, one six) as the Saints rattled up a 12-over score of 117 for 2 to beat Pentagon by 38 runs.

Searson was well-supported by fellow opener Grant Phillips (25), the pair laying the foundations for the victory with a partnership of 66.Phillips also impressed with the ball, his four-over spell resulting in four Pentagon wickets for 12 runs.

Searson bagged the other two to fall for a cost of 19 runs in three overs.Wayne Summers took both St Helier wickets to fall and together with Alex Luce they put on a sixth-wicket partnership of 39 after their colleagues had slumped to 21 for 5 after just five overs.Karl Le Fèvre was dismissed by a spectacular catch by Lee Kent at long-on.

Kent ran around 12 yards to get to the ball and after a bit of a juggling act he held on to the ball to give Phillips his first wicket on the night with the fourth delivery of the first over.Centurions will oppose St Helier in the final next Tuesday evening at Grainville.Centurions last night continued their good form with a seven-wicket win against Securicor with 14 balls to spare.Securicor openers Shaun Clark and Nick Reynolds made a lively start and they survived a couple of dropped catches.

Bowlers Jez McKeever and the luckless Matthew Smith eventually pegged the supply of runs before medium-pacer Elanco and Will Gorman mopped up taking three and two wickets respectively leaving Securicor close on 94 for 8.A steady reply by Elanco and McKeever built a solid platform before the big hitters came in to finish Securicor’s hopes of victory.
