Blazin’ Squad sing praises for ‘gentleman’ Marcel on Love Island

Stars of the noughties hip hop group Blazin’ Squad have given the thumbs up to former bandmate Marcel Somerville’s performance as the Love Island “gentleman”.

The group’s agent, Matt Wynter, said everybody had been impressed with Somerville’s role on the ITV 2 dating show, and were looking forward to some “big plans” on his return.

While the 10-piece Flip Reverse stars disbanded in 2009, some of the boys have since come together for reunion shows and Wynter has promised that more are on the way.

He told the Press Association: “Marcel is looking really good and he is doing really well, we couldn’t have asked for anything better.

“He is a gentleman, which is really nice to see.”

Somerville has made his mutual appreciation for his bandmates clear throughout the show, taking light-hearted teases from fellow islanders for regularly bringing up the subject.

Tuesday night’s episode will see him rekindle his passion for music even further when he joins up with Kem and Chris to write a rap.

Commenting on plans for after the show, due to end later this month, Wynter continued: “There are plans, but we will see where his head is at when he comes out.

“The boys have been touring anyway but we are looking at potentially something bigger.

“There are going to be some shows but not necessarily a big comeback.”
