The JEP is offering readers the chance to win one of five posters signed by the Red Arrows’ team following their performance at this year’s Jersey International Air Display. Five lucky winners will receive a framed version of the photo, taken during this year’s show.

The Red Arrows have been a staple part of the Jersey International Air Display for years. They are known for flying in their signature nine-plane diamond formation, as well as for performing death-defying stunts, wowing audiences around the world.

Formed in 1964, the team initially flew in Folland Gnats, but, in 1980, switched to the BAE Systems Hawk T1 aircraft. Its single Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour Mk 861 turbofan engine produces 5,700lbs of thrust, allowing it to accelerate up to 645mph.

To enter, simply answer the following question:

What year did the Red Arrows form?

a) 1964

b) 1960

c) 1980

The winner will be chosen at random from all the correct entries. The closing date for entries is FRIDAY 15 SEPTEMBER, 2023.
