MONEYBRAIN has gone from strength to strength since relocating to Jersey, from where it has launched its stablecoin offering and founded the corporate arm of the business. The latest development is the appointment of executive assistant Holly Birkett, who we meet in this week’s Crypto Corner.
Welcome, Holly
We sat down with Holly and learnt a little more about the role she will be playing in the Moneybrain team and what excites her most about moving to Jersey.
You’ve recently graduated from university. What ignited your passion for crypto?
Studying at the University of Bristol was a hugely formative experience for me, both academically and personally. My degree exposed me to finance, economics and technology, and I became particularly interested in how financial systems evolve.
During my studies, we explored topics around financial inclusion, digital banking and emerging financial technologies, which naturally led me towards cryptocurrency and the blockchain. What really sparked my interest in crypto was its potential to reshape the financial market and our traditional view of money. Crypto isn’t just a new asset class; it represents a broader shift towards decentralised systems and user empowerment.
What role will you be playing at Moneybrain?
At Moneybrain, I will be executive assistant to the directors and I will be contributing across operations to support development. Moneybrain highlights how crypto can be integrated responsibly into everyday financial services and I’m excited to be working at the forefront of fintech innovation, particularly in a regulated environment.
What are your top five skills and how do you see them complementing your role?
My top skills are analytical thinking, communication, adaptability, collaboration and curiosity. I believe these help me approach challenges thoughtfully, work effectively within the team and continuously learn in a rapidly evolving industry.
You’ve recently moved to Jersey. What excites you most about this?
Having recently moved to Jersey, I’m excited by being close to the sea, and becoming part of a smaller community while still working in a global industry. It feels like an environment which will foster my growth.
