Two new partners for Carey Olsen offices

CAREY Olsen has appointed Huw Thomas as a partner in its Jersey office and Helen Wang to partner in Singapore.

The two promotions bring the total number of partners across the Carey Olsen group to 69.

Carey Olsen group managing partner Alex Ohlsson said: ‘I would like to congratulate Huw and Helen on joining the partnership. Both bring a broad range of experience to our firm and fantastic technical skill, which has enabled them to deliver a market-leading service to our clients. Employment lawyer Mr Thomas is a member of the firm’s Channel Islands employment practice and has played a central role in its development over the past ten years. He has wide-ranging experience in dealing with a variety of employment issues and has significant knowledge and experience in relation to data protection and information management.

Having joined Carey Olsen in 2010, his prior roles include working for a leading employment law firm in the City of London. He is recognised by the Legal 500 as a leading individual and as a band-one lawyer by Chambers UK.

Ms Wang specialises in litigation, insolvency and restructuring. She has extensive experience advising clients on complex cross-border litigation and handling high-value disputes covering a variety of sectors, including banking and financial services, digital asset and crypto, high-net-worth individuals and energy and resources.

Having trained and qualified as a litigator at the international law firm, Clifford Chance, she specialises in commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency, fraud and investigatory cases.
