Jersey TechAwards shortlist announced

THE shortlist for the fifth Jersey Tech-Awards, which include a new Innovation Award, has been announced and shows ‘a diverse range of talent and inspiring leadership’.

Sponsored by C5 Alliance, and organised by Digital Jersey, the winners will be announced on 28 April at a ceremony hosted by television personality and award-winning comedian Zoe Lyons.

The Innovation Award category is intended to celebrate ‘a technological solution which has solved a problem or acts as a market disrupter’. The shortlist comprises a marine environment project, a revolutionary charity fundraising solution and the use of blockchain technology to enable authorised signatory management.

Digital Jersey head of marketing and communications Kelly Barker said: ‘We have been blown away by the breadth and quality of this year’s award entries. They signify not just the diverse range of talent we have in our island, but also the inspiring leadership that drives these digital solutions.’

The judging panel was chaired by Marbral Advisory chief executive Leonie McCrann and also consisted of Monoceros Innovation founder Emma German, 80Twenty Ltd co-founder Jason Laity, Santander head of technology operations and risk/chief information security officer Dave Cartwright and Envestors managing director Ed Daubeney.

They were also joined by Barclays Eagle Labs ecosystem manager Nicolle Maltwood, Web Administration Resource Management chief executive Jensen Nixon, AugmentCity and Offshore Simulator Centre chief executive Joel Mills, Continuum Consulting chief executive Dan Hare, CERT director Matt Palmer and Public Health principal policy officer Dr Clare Newman.

Stuart Richford, group commercial director at C5, said: ‘It’s important that we recognise the talent we have here in Jersey and encourage the drive for innovation that has made our island so successful over the generations.

‘We have a lot to be proud of and it’s only right that those who rise to the challenge of finding new solutions are recognised. Congratulations to all the shortlisted nominees.’
