EQUINOX Trustees Ltd has recently strengthened its senior-management team with the appointments of Kiran Patel as client services director and head of new business, and David Oliver as head of risk and compliance. They will join the existing directors, Tony Quinn and Anton Swemmer, and will work together to take the business forward and achieve growth in line with the company’s strategic plan.
Kiran arrives with a wealth of experience in the regulated offshore environment and is responsible for a number of family structures as well as the introduction and development of new business. Prior to joining Equinox, Kiran held senior positions at various Jersey-based fiduciaries and has been responsible for the delivery of professional administration services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Kiran is a qualified English solicitor, a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has worked in the Jersey fiduciary industry for more than 30 years, holding many directorships and trusteeships.
David joined Equinox in February 2021 as head of risk and compliance. David’s previous roles include 15 years at the Jersey Financial Services Commission, which culminated in membership of the executive board as head of the trust company business division. Since leaving his role as chief compliance officer of a London-Stock-Exchange-listed financial-services institution three years ago, David has been employed as a risk and compliance consultant at a number of regulated institutions.
Equinox Trustees managing director Tony Quinn said: ‘Given the recent retirements in the senior management team, we have been working hard to find the right individuals who will fit the culture and ethos of the company. We are delighted to have Kiran and David on board and now have a platform for growth as the company enters its next phase of evolution.’
Equinox Trustees is an independent owner-managed Jersey trust company, providing a boutique and cost-effective service for a wide spectrum of clients. It was established in 2000 by Tony Quinn, initially focusing on private-client work and has operated successfully over the past 20 years.
At Equinox the focus is on developing strong client relationships through the provision of a friendly and professional service. The intention is to promote a relaxed working environment, thereby ensuring the continuity of staff which, in turn, benefits the level of service we can provide to our clients.
Ownership drives behaviour and, as a privately owned independent trust company, Equinox is free from institutional ties and is in a strong position to provide an independent and transparent personal service to private wealth and corporate clients. Being an independent director-led business allows for quick decision-making and the ability to respond rapidly to client needs and the ever-changing regulatory landscape.
