A COUPLE who set up a business importing Italian wine are to expand into hospitality with a new restaurant in St Aubin.
Enoteca is set to open later this month on the site at Charing Cross, formerly occupied by La Belle Gourmande delicatessen.
Kate Haslam and Marcello Montanari set up Wild Wine in 2021, and will sell a selection of the wine and other products they import at the new restaurant, alongside fresh pasta dishes and other Italian fare.
The venue will operate as a restaurant across two floors, plus outside area, as well as selling takeaway coffees from an adjacent unit.
An application for a licence for the business was approved at a recent parish assembly in St Brelade and is set to be considered by the Licensing Assembly on 16 June.
La Belle Gourmande was an established part of St Aubin for almost a decade before closing as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, and has remained closed since.
