THREE schoolgirls who raised more than £300 for a local charity were treated to a tea party to thank them for their efforts.
Erin Moore, Amalie Dixon and Millie Bracken, all Year 5 students at FCJ Primary School, hosted a series of community-focused activities at Belvedere Estate.
The trio baked cakes, organised an obstacle course for children and even ran an agility course for dogs.
All of the proceeds the girls made went to NSPCC Jersey – a local charity which works to prevent child abuse and neglect.
The charity also run a free, confidential 24/7 helpline, for children or anybody who is worried about the welfare of a child.
The girls’ parents said: “As parents we’re so proud of what the girls have achieved. They came up with the idea and really threw themselves into it. Raising £362 is fantastic, but seeing how excited they’ve been about helping others has made us even prouder.”
NSPCC Jersey thanked the girls by inviting them to the Gower Centre in St Helier, where they enjoyed a tea party and were presented with certificates.
Zoe Hotton, NSPCC Jersey fundraising and events manager, said: “We were delighted to meet these three young girls who helped to raise money for NSPCC Jersey. Their enthusiasm, initiative and thoughtfulness were truly inspiring and they demonstrated a remarkable commitment to helping other children.
“We were incredibly impressed by their creativity, determination and willingness to give up their time to support NSPCC Jersey. They should all be extremely proud of what they achieved and we are very grateful for their support.”
