THREE Jersey swimmers have completed a six-hour swim along a picturesque lake in the French Alps.
Julia Morris, Jean Rhodes and Sally Minty-Gravett swam in tandem as they completed their nine-mile challenge along the length of Lake Annecy.
After a windy start, the trio made excellent progress and eventually came ashore at the southern end of the lake after six hours and seven minutes in the water.
The swimmers were accompanied by other members of Mrs Rhodes’s family, including her daughters Al and Rachael, with her husband Ian observing from an electric guide boat powered by Thomas Pilon.
Successful completion of Lake Annecy was the latest in a golden summer for members of the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club, including Phil Gaudin (the English Channel), Alice Harvey (Sark to Jersey) and Fay de Gruchy (round-Jersey), as well as a solo effort by Ms Morris between Jersey and France.
