BERGERAC is set to gain access to “an even wider audience”, with the first series of the revamped detective drama now available to view in its entirety on iPlayer.
Residents across the UK will now be able to enjoy the show – which stars Damien Molony as the eponymous Jim Bergerac – at their viewing leisure via the BBC’s streaming platform.
The first two episodes of the U&Original series also aired back-to-back on BBC Two last week as part of the Friday evening schedule.
Visit Jersey Chief Executive Tricia Warwick said she was “thrilled that the new series will now reach an ever wider audience”.
She added: “The series has already impactfully raised Jersey’s profile as a visitor destination, and this new platform means even more viewers will discover our Island’s stunning landscapes and unique locations for themselves.
“We look forward to warmly welcoming them to Jersey.”
Independent research conducted by market research company YouGov in June 2026 appears to corroborate Ms Warwick’s enthusiasm.
It found that UK adults who have viewed Bergerac are “significantly more likely” to consider Jersey as a holiday destination.
The research further revealed that people who have watched both series of the show are 4x more likely to find Jersey appealing, and 3x more likely to consider visiting the Island in the next two years.
Brian Constantine, Executive Producer, added that the “great position of Bergerac within the BBC schedule reflects the strength of the series”.
“As international sales continue to grow around the world, it’s clear the show is finding audiences well beyond Jersey,” he told.
“None of this would have been possible without the support of Islanders, the Government of Jersey and Visit Jersey, whose backing has helped bring Bergerac back to our screens and share Jersey with audiences across the UK and beyond.”
The programme is also available to watch on U, U&Drama and on Channel 4.
