MORE than 400,000 people travelled through Jersey Airport in the second quarter of this year as air and sea passenger numbers continued to climb following the introduction of new routes and increased capacity.

In April, Ports announced that there had been a 2.2% rise in the number of passengers who travelled through Jersey Airport during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2025.

Sea passenger volumes also showed signs of growth, with DFDS reporting a strong rise in bookings – including a jump of 31% on the St Malo route for January.

In an update today, Ports said that the upward momentum had continued into the second quarter of this year, with 400,000 travellers passing through Jersey Airport during the period – an increase of 1.9% year-on-year.

“This positive momentum reflects enhanced capacity and improved connectivity,” the States-owned entity continued.

“KLM now connects Jersey to Amsterdam and its global network, while Loganair has added new services to Bordeaux and Paris.

“Together with Finistair’s Brest route, Jersey now benefits from up to six weekly flights to France.

“Jet2 continues to expand, with more growth planned for 2027, and easyJet has launched flights to London Southend.”

Sea passengers grew 7.9% in the second quarter of the year in comparison to 2025, which also saw the return of summer services from Islands Unlimited and Manche Îles Express.

May was particularly strong for DFDS, with passengers up 20% against the same month last year.
