A MENTAL-HEALTH strategy integrating views from hundreds of Islanders is due to be published this month.
This deadline was set in the report presented by health chief officer Tom Walker to his department’s advisory board last week.
The strategy, he wrote, “will be published and launched in March”, after focus groups with “over 100 people” took place and 168 people completed an online survey, starting in September last year.
He added that two “large workshops” held in January hosted patients, carers, staff and partner organisations.
The strategy is expected to cover the period from 2026 to 2030, and an original draft was expected in December 2025.
Parts of the mental health strategy – particularly those affecting older Islanders – form part of the department’s objectives, set out in its 2026 annual plan.
