A COMMUNITY-LED drop-in workshop will be held at St Martin’s Public Hall next month as part of efforts to develop a future vision for Gorey Pier.

Anyone is welcome to attend the free event, which will take place on Tuesday 3 March from 5pm to 7.30pm.

Last year, Ports of Jersey unveiled plans to remove the deteriorating landing stage at the end of Gorey Pier, which sparked calls from local boat-owners for a wider vision for the area’s future to be developed.

St Martin Constable Karen Stone said: “We want to hear your views about Gorey whether you are a resident, visitor, business owner or harbour user.”

Lauren Botterill, of design practice and think tank Create Streets, said that the drop-in
workshop “will give us a chance to speak with residents and organisations to understand their aspirations and concerns”.

“We want to hear local views on what people value about Gorey Pier and what improvements they might make to its buildings, streets and public spaces to inform its future stewardship and management.”

Parking for the workshop will be available in the car park opposite St Martin’s Public Hall. Those with mobility requirements are being asked to contact publichall@stmartin.je in advance.
