JERSEY youngster Rory Le Masurier overcame illness and a packed schedule to strike gold at the Babolat International French Borders 2026 in Strasbourg.

The 13-year-old, selected to represent England Under-15s, competed in Mixed Doubles, Boys’ Singles and Boys’ Doubles, with his standout result coming alongside Ava Dodkins (Staffordshire) in the Mixed Doubles.
After being unwell on the eve of the tournament, Le Masurier showed impressive resilience to battle through Friday’s event.
Seeded 5/8, the pair received a bye into the round of 32 and progressed smoothly to the semi-finals before edging a dramatic three-set win against a Czech pairing to reach the final.
The final was decided in two tight sets, with Le Masurier sealing gold on match point by driving a confident return deep into the back court under heavy pressure.
The teenage star also won his group in the Singles before exiting in the round of 16, while in the Boys’ Doubles he partnered Aarav Kotian (Kent) to reach the quarter-finals after a long day on court.
He now turns his attention to an Under-15 Gold tournament in Milton Keynes this weekend.
