JERSEY’S football sensation Callum Osmand has signed a four-year deal at the iconic Scottish Premiership champions, Celtic FC.
Osmand’s consistent goalscoring form in the Fulham FC academy attracted the attention of the Scottish giants and former Liverpool FC manager, Brendan Rogers.
Osmand said that Rogers has filled him with confidence ahead of his debut season: “The manager has been really supportive and outlines what he wants from me, which has helped a lot.”
He was unable to contain his excitement with the move: “It means so much to me, joining Celtic, it’s been a dream of mine to play for such a huge club and it feels amazing to finally be here.”
The powerful striker spent seven years at Fulham’s Craven Cottage, honing his craft after leaving Jersey as a young man in search for professional football.
Moving to the north on a free transfer, Osmand fulfilled his 13-year dream and will sport the number 19 shirt for “the hoops”.

Osmand is keen to get underway in green and white: “I’m really excited to get started and get out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans. Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it’s such a privilege to be here.”
After making waves in the U18 Premier League with Fulham all the way through to Premier League 2, the striker delivered an impressive 55 combined goals and assists in 73 appearances for The Cottagers’ academy.
The Wales international has been turning heads with his electric finishing, evidently enough to cement himself on one of the biggest stages. Celtic FC carry a historic legacy being the joint-most decorated team in Scottish history.
The Hoops share an equal 55 titles with bitter rivals Rangers FC, and Osmand will be raring to get his team out in front with his debut season looming.
Fulham and Celtic share a well-established link, with several academy graduates having previously followed the same path as Osmand, including Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley and the incredible Moussa Dembele.
Having spoken to O’Riley prior to joining, Osmand was convinced and it seems it was the right decision, the new number 19 said: “The staff and players have all been so welcoming, helping me ease into what feels like a new life, as well as the fans’ support. It has been unbelievable. I’m really grateful.”
Celtic are known for their passionate fans and electric atmosphere, which no doubt will be a new and exciting experience for the young prospect.
Osmand is confident that he can make an impact at this level: “It’s now up to me to push myself to the best I can.”
