A van has been recovered after coming off a slipway at St Ouen’s Bay and landing on its roof on rocks below.

The handbrake on the silver Volkswagen failed, causing it to go over the edge of the slip near Sands. It is understood that no one was injured in the incident.

A recovery team from No 1 Recovery worked to lift the silver Volkswagen from the rocks ahead of the incoming tide, with the Coastguard also on site to assist.

The van was hoisted from the shoreline just in time as water began to pool around the rocks.

The JEP has contacted the emergency services for further information.
