Airport plan for three new hangars

Ports of Jersey, which is behind the proposals, says that the hangars are needed to meet a demand from corporate and private jet owners.

An application has been submitted to Planning to build the three aircraft hangars, each comprising 21,500 square feet, on the western part of the airfield to provide space for both local and visiting aircraft.

Lee McConnell, corporate and general aviation development manager for Ports of Jersey said: ‘This significant investment by Ports of Jersey is sending a positive message to the global business jet market of our increasing confidence in the corporate aviation industry.

‘It can only improve our credibility and visibility internationally in this forum, which in turn will attract more inward investment, aviation activity and local aviation sector job growth.’
