Thundery showers on the way

Following a dry week, the weather is expected to break down overnight as the first showers begin to move north.

The most likely time of seeing thundery showers is Thursday afternoon, according to Jersey Met.

Although it could be wet, temperatures are expected to rise to 19c on Thursday.

Forecaster Sarah Weber said: ‘High pressure over the UK is declining and low pressure will move east to north-east towards Biscay. Its associated fronts will bring the risk of thundery showers.

‘We are likely to see some isolated showers overnight and there is the chance that these could be thundery. But the most likely time we will see thundery showers is on Thursday afternoon.

‘The air is also going to be much warmer and it could get quite misty.’

The showers are expected to move away during Friday and the weekend is currently looking dry.
