Gemma Lajoie was filming the approaching storm when a bolt of fork lightning seemingly struck St Marks’ Church, one of St Helier’s tallest buildings.
The dramatic shots were taken on the tablet device, just after 12 noon on Sunday , when a violent hailstorm crossed the Island with the resulting clap of thunder heard for miles.
