JSPCA head ‘still on leave’

Stephen Coleman – who has headed the Island’s oldest charity since 2006 – was asked to step away from his position following an AGM in June.

Sources told the JEP that forensic accountants and lawyers were helping with an internal inquiry.

For weeks the JEP has sought clarification as to what is happening within the charity, which is due to celebrate its 150th anniversary next year.

The JSPCA said in June that Mr Coleman was on ‘leave of absence’.

This week a spokeswoman for the charity said that the position had not changed and said: ‘Mr Coleman remains on leave of absence.’

According to his LinkedIn page, Mr Coleman served in the military up to the rank of Major and joined the JSPCA 11 years ago.
