Following the Manchester bombing the UK increased its terror threat level to ‘critical’, which is the highest possible and means that ‘an imminent attack is expected’. It has now been downgraded to ‘severe’.
It adds: ‘An increased uniformed presence across the Island will continue to be seen over the weekend as this measure takes effect.
‘While the threat level has now returned to its previous position, the States police continue to direct Islanders to previous advice and guidance in respect to vigilance and personal safety both in the Island and when travelling abroad.’
