Hospice lottery spreads the joy for prizewinners

Hazel Yapp turned 75 the day after the draw, which took place on Friday night at the Royal Yacht Hotel and was attended by hundreds of Islanders.

Although it is not yet known who has scooped the £1million jackpot, Mrs Yapp, who was sitting yards away from the draw table with her daughter Suzanne, jumped for joy when the £50,000 winning number of 6657 was called.

The draw was compèred by States Deputy Peter Mac, the former Channel 103 FM breakfast presenter, and was attended by hundreds of Islanders, including Miss Battle, Aimee Le Brun.
