Minister rejects finance centre findings

In comments lodged with the States in which he responds officially to an interim report published by the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel in November, Senator Maclean rejects two of the three recommendations made by the panel.

He accepts that an updated viability assessment of building four – the first building of the scheme at the Esplanade – should be undertaken, but says that this has already been done in a number of ways.

He therefore rejects a recommendation that such an assessment should be presented to the panel and the States, arguing that they have already been supplied with the information.

Senator Maclean also rejects a recommendation calling for reappraisals of the full JIFC project and the wider Esplanade masterplan.
