Robert John Gallichan (63), who was the owner of Gallichan Marine, was found hanged at his St Saviour home on 30 December – the day he was due to answer bail after being arrested on suspicion of arson.
The blaze, which happened in the early hours of Monday 7 December, led to the evacuation of 20 residents from their homes and caused fire, smoke and water damage to the neighbouring Harbour Gallery, which was forced to close for more than a month. No other properties in the area suffered major damage.
Police have said that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Gallichan’s death.
