GALLERY: Riders roll back the centuries with the traditional drag hunt

The centuries-old traditional hunt set off from St George’s School before heading around the fields of St Ouen, St Peter and St Mary.

About 50 riders took part in the eight-mile hunt, during which the hounds followed a pre-set scent.

Nick Arthur, joint master of the hunt, said: ‘It was a fantastic event and well supported once again.

‘It was great to see so many members of the public coming out.

‘It has become quite a big community event.

‘We set off from St George’s School and we were very proud to be invited there.

‘There were some very challenging obstacles, but the whole thing was great fun and the smiles people had when they got back from the hunt was great to see.’

There are around 250 hunts held on Boxing Day each year in Britain.
