Saad Hammad, who took over at the airline in August, was in the Island as part of his tour of Flybe bases that are being cut in an attempt to revive the struggling business.

Just over ten days ago the carrier, which evolved from Jersey European Airways in the 1979, announced six base closures, including Jersey, and the loss of 493 jobs from its pool of 2,700 employees.

Some cabin crew and pilots may be able to relocate within the company, but they will not know any more until early next year.

Earlier in the year it announced it was selling all of its Jersey to Gatwick slots to rival airline easyJet.
