At a meeting last week the plans to build 19 flats in four blocks around Keppel Tower were rejected, with Deputy Duhamel indicating that he might accept redrawn plans for 17 flats in three blocks.

The formal application to knock down three existing houses – which has prompted an outcry from neighbours unhappy with the plans – has been deferred, and will be reconsidered.

Plans for the redevelopment of the Mont de la Rocque Hotel site in St Aubin were also rejected, with Deputy Duhamel telling the applicants to reconsider the design of the roof, which he said was not in keeping with the surrounding area.
